Merchant profile: Legend

We went to meet Philippe Batisse, owner of the store  Legend located in the heart of the shopping district of the condemns.

A story

18 rue Princesse Caroline has housed a leather goods store since 1948 and the members of the princely family were served there, but it is truly in the late 70s that the story of this business and of Philippe begins. His father was a commercial agent for the brand Longchamp finds in this small shop an ideal place of distribution. The Parisian leather goods brand really took off in the 90s with flagship models such as the “Pliage” model (32 million units sold). It was during these years of success that Philippe in turn became an agent for Longchamp (among others) and perpetuated the family tradition. In 2014 he decides to take over this business to continue the beautiful story.

A concept

Following the creative line of the store, Legend is first of all to remain on the same concept by selling mainly bags and accessories. It's in 2021that Philippe decides to add objects linked to one of his passions: motorsport. Legend then becomes a concept store where you can find unique items.

In addition to leather goods, Legend has pieces related to motor sports rare and unique. This is the case, for example, of helmets designed in Italy with AGV or Gulf hulls. The store also sells items that belonged to pilots, such as a racing suit belonging to Monegasque pilot Charles Leclerc. Of the art pieces often related to automobiles are also for sale.

Future projects

Philippe wishes to extend his offer by developing his concept store and always offering more authentic items.
