The objectives of the law
The law aims to achieve several objectives:
- The fight against waste: each year, approximately 30 billion tickets receipts are printed and accumulate unnecessarily.
- The protection of health consumers: receipts often contain bisphenol A, a carcinogenic product present in nearly 90 % of receipts in Europe.
- The digital transition of the economy: receipts can now be digitized

What impact on customers?
If it is important for customers to have their receipts, merchants can offer dematerialized solutions such as QR codes or sending the ticket by SMS or e-mail. THE tradespeople must therefore adapt their cash register software to support the dematerialization of tickets.
The end of the obligatory receipt does not mark a true demise, because customers will still be able to request its printing. However, it is necessary to foresee the necessary changes by anticipating technological developments.
